Clare and David booked me online, via Facebook. The first time we had met in person was during our pre wedding meeting a few weeks before their big day. I knew instantly I was in for a wonderful day after hearing them both talk passionately about their final plans for their wedding. I also knew their friends and family were going to be great company after watching the groom to be, David and the bride to be’s mother, Christine making fun of each other playfully.

There is nothing better than turning up to a beautiful house that’s full of family members that have chosen to get ready together - to make the start of their wedding day extra special.

When we arrived at the home of Clare and David, Clare’s talented best friend, Sabrina, had already started doing the mother of the brides make up. It’s always great to see the transformations, especially when someone doesn’t usually wear a lot of make up.

One by one the children came in to have their hair done and were treated to a little glitter on their eyes to match their mothers, then they all went off to carry on playing and watching TV in the other room until it was time to get dressed to head to the wedding venue.

When we arrived at the venue, two of Clare and David’s girls stood in front of all of the guests and read out some poems, considering how young the girls are they both did incredibly well.

Clare and David both have children from previous relationships so to bring their family together as one, before they said the remainder of their wedding vows they added in a sand ceremony ritual. Which is were each member of the family pour in a different coloured sand into a bottle. To symbolise two families becoming one. The bottle can then be treasured for years to come.

The wedding venue - Residence Restaurant & Bar was absolutely stunning, it’s beautifully decorated inside with it’s floral chairs and gorgeous flooring.

The bar has an extensive cocktail menu and the food is beautifully presented and considering how fancy the food and drinks are it’s very reasonably priced.

As Clare and Davids wedding was in December, as you can imagine it took some courage for us to head outside to take some family portraits.

I find that every wedding differs quite a bit when it comes to how important group pictures are. To Clare and David it was important for them to get pictures of them and the kids and them as a couple. As there wedding day was quite intimate photographs of all the other guests were captured throughout the remainder of the day.

What you can’t see in the picture below is that Clare and her family were actually being hounded by local dog walkers and their dogs who didn’t seem to want to leave them alone.

Overall we had a wonderful day with Clare, David and their family and friends. So much thought and preparation had gone into every single detail and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to take part in their day and I was extremely excited to deliver their wedding pictures because I felt like it captured their day perfectly.
